About ARCNet

What is ARCNet?

ARCNet, short for Aboriginal Resource Centre, is a not-for-profit venture and is designed and maintained free of charge by taybridge communications, an Aboriginal-owned (Mohawk) online services business.

ARCNet’s sole purpose is to promote, specifically, Canadian Aboriginal businesses and organizations. All listings are free-of-charge and provide core information to potential customers and resource seekers.

ARCNet is run by a human. All listings submitted to ARCNet are checked by a real live person for authenticity, and each submission is guaranteed that a screen capture of their site will appear along with their listing if a site is available.

How long has ARCnet been online?

ARCNet went online in June 1996. Since then it has had tens of thousands of visitors, hits running over 30,000 a month and over 5600 page views per month.

ARCNet took a two year hiatus in the spring of 2006.

Why not tap into the wired market and advertise on ARCnet?

There are a lot of other Aboriginal sites with links, why another one?

Well, simply, links are fine, but most tend to only show the name of the link and that’s it. At ARCNet, we think it is equally important to provide a description of the business or organization and contact information and a sample of their site. ARCnet is divided by province and territory for easy searching.

Oh, and did I mention we were one of the first Aboriginal resource sites?
